Over this week end in the US will be some of the best Speedway you could ever wish for with Australian and New Zealand drivers pacing the best the world can offer up.
Without doubt the main attention will be the Indianapolis 500 at the Brickyard on Sunday.
Scott Dixon and Will Power are sure to be in the thick of things chasing the big purse and of course the traditional bottle of milk.. Pole sitter is Ed Carpenter.
Saturday will see the 65th running of the little Indy 500 at Anderson Speedway where non winged sprintcars will race the pavement for the Pay less Little Indy 500. .While there are no Aussies or Kiwi racers in the field many drivers known to Australian and New Zealand fans will run the pavement . Dave Darland ,Bryan Clauson and Bobbie East will face off against pole sitter Jo.Jo Helberg and nine times winner Eric Gordon for a part of the US$123,000 purse.
Dirt track fans will be wiping the dust away at Charlotte Speedway when the Outlaws attack the Speedway at the start of the NASCAR weekend which includes the Coca Cola 600 and the Circle K NOS Energy Outlaw Showdown.
Pittman,Schatz and MacMahan will have a pack chasing them for points and Aussie Kerry Madson will be in the rush for top points on the night .
Over at Wisconsin , Angell Park Speedway will be the first race appearance for New Zealand’s Brad Mosen and Michael Pickens . Their Esslinger powered cars have been fired up and sorted after the long journey from Auckland . The effort that this team BSL7 Racing has gone too is nothing short of amazing and while both drivers are so talented they will need luck to be on their side . Local track knowledge is important and Pickens will need to remember how it was when he last won a Main event at Angell Park..
The Angell Park event is the first race for the pair in a 5 weeks racing tour that will take in 11 race meeting including the Powri/USAC midget events and the on May 31st the Hut 100 at Tri-City Speedway .
