Speedway promoters spend large amounts of cash preparing tracks and programs for race meeting, many scheduled months in advance. Teams and drivers travel hundreds of miles to compete, some travel from overseas to compete in the bigger races,

.Promoters needs to run race meetings to remain profitable and racecar drivers need to race to earn their living. I think many race fans are so disappointed when meetings are cancelled due to weather that they lose sight of the safety aspect of the decision and the work put into the preparation and the recover after storms and rained out meetings.
