4.45pm  Sydney Eastern Daylight Saving Time and day 3 has ended on a high for Sammy Swindell as  he books a spot on one of the two front rows for the Saturday nights final feature .

The 25 lap qualifying River Spirit Casino sponsored race was a race of stoppages , 3 in fact but on each restart Sammy gassed the midget it up through turns 3 and 4 to jump ahead.and maintain his race winning lead . Behind Sammy both Taylor , Gardiner and Haudenschild were fighting for one of the top three positions to gain automatic entry to the Saturday feature . The last stoppage was when Streeter flips. The race to the flag for the last  10 laps had a dominating Swindell out in front with Gardiner and Haudenschild both attacking  Taylor aggressively  and he was unlucky to miss a top 3 position finally crossing in fourth

Sammy Swindell  was masterful , Bryan Clauson after finishing 7th still has work to do if he is to make the Bowl final.
